Dr. Joan O. Dawson has been involved in education and administration for more than thirty years as a teacher, principal, consultant and district administrator. She has served as the Director of a U.S.D.O.E federal program, the Equity Assistance Center, where she assisted school districts in figuring out how to assure the success of all of the students in schools and districts. Her workshops and training sessions have dealt with equity and excellence and the tenets of No Child Left Behind (NCLB). Some of those are focused professional development, assessments that are in line with standards and accountability, diversity and cultural differences and how to meet the needs of students who are culturally different.
Dr. Dawson uses specific strategies for technical assistance/training. Examples are,
1.Small group/individual consultations
2.Policy review and changes
3.Telephone consultations/discussions
4.Team development for capacity building
5.Long term assessment, strategy development and turn-key training to address NCLB
Dr. Dawson received her undergraduate degree from Southern University, her master’s degree from Louisiana State University in special education and her doctorate from New York University in Education Administration and Supervision. She had conducted workshops and training all over the country with a focus on New York State, New Jersey State, Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands.

Dr. Lee Stewart has been involved in education and administration for more than eleven years as a teacher, principal, consultant and college professor. He possesses certifications in Texas in Online Instruction, Industrial Technology, Integrated Physics and Chemistry, Mid-Management (Principalship), and PDAS appraisals. Dr. Stewart has leadership experience as an Administrative Academic Advisor at the secondary level, an Elementary Principal, and as a District Level Curriculum Director. As principal he led one urban elementary school from the lowest performing in the district to one of the highest in the district.
His specialization includes:
1. Improving organizational climate and culture
2. Leadership roles in education
3. Advisory programs for reducing student
anonymity.
Dr. Stewart received his bachelor’s in business administration, his master’s in educational administration, and his doctorate from Baylor University in Educational Leadership. He has served as a reviewer for numerous peer-reviewed journals, presented at state and national conferences, and written books and chapters on subjects related to school improvement.


Dr. Sandra Stewart has been involved in education and administration for over twenty years as a teacher, principal, consultant and college professor. She has certifications in reading, special education, and Early Childhood and has received extensive training in learning styles and brain-based research. She has leadership experience as an assistant principal, principal, and central office administrator. Her focus on the improvement of campus climate and culture originated when she was placed as the principal of a state identified low performing campus. Through a process of improving campus climate and expectations for all, the school improved to a state recognized campus.
Her specialization includes:
1. Improving organizational climate and culture
2. Leadership roles in education
3. Effective strategies for teaching diverse learners
4. How to disaggregate data to comply with state and federal accountability
Dr. Stewart received her bachelor’s in education, her master’s in educational administration, and her doctorate from Stephen F. Austin State University in Educational Leadership. Dr. Stewart has served as editor for numerous peer-reviewed journals, presented at state and national conferences, and written chapters for two books, currently submitted and in press.
